374-375 : The Marriage In Cana

374-375 : The Marriage In Cana

THE third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
Jesus and his disciples were also invited to the wedding.
And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus said to him, "They have no more wine."
Jesus said to her, "Woman, what would you have me do? It is not yet time for me to act."
His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it."
Now there were six stone water pots standing there for the purification rites of the Jews,
holding twenty to thirty gallons apiece.
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the waterpots with water." And they filled them to the brim.
Then he said to them, "Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast." And they took it.
When the master of the feast tasted the water that was made wine,
not knowing where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew),
the master of the feast called to the bridegroom and said to him,
"Every man sets out good wine at the beginning, and when men have drunk well,
then that which is worse. But you have kept the good wine until now."
This beginning of miracles Jesus did in Cana of Galilee,
and showed his glory, and his disciples believed in him.
