390 : The Golden Rule , By Their Fruits
"Ask, and it shall be given you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you.
For every one that asks receives, and he that seeks finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
What man is there among you who, if his son asks bread, will give him a stone?
Or if he ask a fish, will give him a serpent?
"IF you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children,
how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Therefore, whatever you want that men should do to you, do so to them. For this is the law and the prophets.
"Enter in at the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction,
and there are many who go in that way.
Because narrow is the gate. and narrow is the way which leads to life, and there are few that find it.
BY THEIR FRUITS. ..
"Beware of false prophets which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.
You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
Every good tree brings forth good fruit, but a bad tree brings forth bad fruit.
A good tree cannot bring forth bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bring forth good fruit.
Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.
Therefore, by their fruits you shall know them.
