436-437 : The Entry Into Jerusalem

436-437 : The Entry Into Jerusalem

IT came to pass that when Jesus was near Bethphage and Bethany,
at the hill called the Mount of Olives,He sent forth two of His Disciples saying:
Go into the village near by and upon entering you shall find a colt
tied on which no man has ever sat.Loose him and bring him here.
And if any man asks you, "Why do you loose him?,"say to him, "
Because the Lord has need of him."
The two disciples went their way and found it as He had said to them.
As they were loosing the colt, the owners said to them,"Why do you loose the colt?"
And they said,"The Lord has need of him."

They brought him to Jesus and they laid their garments upon the colt, and they set
Jesus upon it.And as he rode they spread their clothes on the road.
When he had come near the slope of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of His
disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works
that they had seen,saying,

"Blessed be the King that comes in the name of the Lord.Peace in Heaven, and glory in the highest."

Then some of the Phasisees from among the multitude said to Him,"Master ,rebuke your disciples."

He answered  and said to them,"I tell you that if they should hold their peace, the
stones would immediately cry out."
He had come near to the city, and when he saw it he wept over it ,saying:
"If only you knew,in this day of yours, the things which concern your peace!
But they are hid from your eyes.

The days shall come that your enemies shall build a trench around you and keep you in on every side.
They shall throw you to the ground and your children within you.

They shall not leave you one stone on another,

because you did not acknowledge the time when God visited you."

And when he entered Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, "Who is this?"
And the multitude said, "This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee."
