515 : Faith Without Wavering

515 : Faith Without Wavering

"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering,
for he is faithful that promised: 'The just shall live by faith,
but if any man shrinks back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.'

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God,
so that things which are seen were made out of things which do not appear."

"I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on the day of judgment.

And not only to me, but to all them also that love his appearing.

"Do your best to come to me shortly. The others have deserted me. Only Luke is with me.
Take Mark and bring him with you, for he is profitable to me for the ministry.
The cloak that I left at Troas with Carpus, when you come, bring it with you, and the books,
especially the parchments.

"The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen."
