86-87 : Pharoahs Invitation

86-87 : Pharoahs Invitation

NEWS of the event was heard in Pharaoh's house.
"Joseph's brothers have come."

This pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants were pleased.
Pharaoh said to Joseph:"Say to your brothers:
'Load your beasts, and go, hurry up to the land of Canaan.
Get your father and your households and come to me,
and I will give you the best of the land of Egypt, and you shall eat of the fat of the land.'
 And give these orders:
'Take wagons up from Egypt for your little ones and your wives,
and bring your father and come back.
Do not bring with you your goods, for the best of all the land of Egypt shall be yours."'

Therefore Joseph gave his brothers wagons, and gave them provisions for the journey.
To each of them he gave changes of clothes,
but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothes.
To his father he sent these gifts: ten asses loaded with the good things of Egypt,
and ten she-asses loaded with corn and bread and meat for his provisions on the journey.

Then he sent his brothers away, and they left.
He said to them, "See that you do not have any trouble on the way and do not quarrel."
They went up out of Egypt and came to the land of Canaan to Jacob their father.
They told him all saying:"Joseph is still alive ! He is the governor over the land of Egypt."

Jacobs heart grew faint, for he could not  believe it.

But they told him every word Joseph had said to them,
and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob revived.

He said: "It is enough that Joseph my son is still alive.
I will go up and see him before I die."
